Police offer safety tips.
Police still are still on the lookout for a man who may be wanted in a string of sex assaults in and around the Springfield area. Police say the suspect grabbed a woman’s buttocks in Falls Church and did not let go until she screamed in October. The man approached the woman while she walked pushing her baby carriage near the intersection of South Maple Avenue and Gibson Street around 4 p.m. on Oct. 19. Police are looking to see if this alleged suspect is connected to five or six similar incidents that happened in Fairfax County in September. Police ask the community to be aware of your surroundings: Anyone with information about the possible suspect should call Detective Richardson at 703-248-5238.

Incidents reportedly occurred on Hibbling Avenue, Commerce Street last week.
Two women reported they were fondled in the Springfield area last Thursday, Nov. 1, according to Fairfax County Police officials. The women are the eighth and ninth to be attacked by a man who is allegedly fondling women across the Springfield, Franconia and Falls Church area. One woman on Thursday was in the 7200 block of Commerce Street. The other was on Hibbling Avenue, where an earlier incident occurred, WTOP reported. The series of attacks started Sept. 7. Police released a sketch of the suspect in October. Falls Church police and Fairfax County police are both searching for him. Police say woman walking with baby carriage was grabbed and groped Friday in Falls Church. Description matches suspect in six previous incidents.
A man possibly related to six other incidents of fondling women on the streets in the Springfield area may have struck again. Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 40-year-old woman Friday in the City of Falls Church. At 4:23 p.m. that day, police said the man walked up behind the woman as she walked with a baby stroller near the intersection of South Maple Avenue and Gibson Street in Falls Church. Police said the man grabbed the woman’s buttocks and did not let go until she screamed. Police are looking to see if this alleged suspect is connected to similar incidents that happened in Fairfax County in September.
