Fourth of July Celebrations Around Burke

Find out where you can celebrate Independence Day close to home.

If you don’t have travel plans and want to stay close to home to celebrate Independence Day on July 4, there’s a handful of local events happening near Burke.

There will be no shortage of music this Fourth of July. The Kings Park Band will perform at Kings Park in Springfield at 12 p.m. on July 4 and take the stage at Lake Accotink Park from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Springfield on July 5 as part of the Braddock Nights Concert Series.

Also on July 5, the Folsom prisoners will bring their country sound to Royal Lake Park from 7:30pm-8:30pm.

If it’s fireworks you’re looking for, the closest celebrations are in Fairfax.

The City of Fairfax will host an Independence Day celebration on July 4 from 7-10:30 p.m. at Fairfax High School, located at 3501 Rebel Run. There will be live music from "Grooveline,” who will play hits from the 1950s to the present. The fireworks show will start at 9:20 p.m. This event is free.

Earlier in the day, there will be an Independence Day Parade from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. along Main Street in Fairfax. A total of nine high school marching bands will participate, including the Fairfax High School Marching Rebels.

Over in Lorton, there will also be fireworks at the Workhouse Arts Center located at 9601 Ox Road on Saturday, July 6 at 9 p.m. This event is also free.
