On Tuesday, September 10, Fairfax CASA participated in the ExxonMobil Employees’ Favorite Charity Campaign kick-off fair. In the company of more than 100 local nonprofits, we had the opportunity to share information about Fairfax CASA’s mission with more than a thousand employees.
This very successful annual giving campaign is developed and managed exclusively by ExxonMobil employees. The tag line for the event is “Your Giving Makes a Difference” – and it certainly does! In the years since ExxonMobil began managing its own campaign, employees have pledged more than 2 million dollars each year since 2008 for area nonprofits. ExxonMobil also matches employee gifts with a corporate donation, adding to the company’s philanthropic impact.
This year the theme color was lavender, and most employees got in the spirit by donning lavender shirts, ties, and accessories. Fairfax CASA got into the spirit of things by handing out lavender bag clips to participants. Fairfax CASA salutes ExxonMobil for setting the standard for employee giving, and thanks the employees for their generous gifts to our program and other worthy causes in the community.
