Looking Back at 2013 and Forward to 2014

December at Fairfax CASA marks the mid-way point for our FY14 fiscal year. As I review our plans for FY14, I am proud to report that we are very much on track to meet important goals. We have spent the fall months providing our volunteers with a special Educational Advocacy Training to assist them as they advocate within the schools. Plans are underway to host another large scale training in January to enhance our advocacy of older youth in the court protection system. We continue to explore avenues for supporting youth ages 18-21 who remain in foster care. Registration has already begun for the May 2014 Run for the Children, which brings vital awareness and funds to support the program.
The common thread for all of these initiatives remains the steadfast service of our CASA volunteers, who continue to serve the best interests of each and every child referred to our program by the Fairfax County juvenile court. Their advocacy and our activities are all directed toward achieving the ultimate outcome for children – a safe and loving home where they can grow and thrive.
As this year draws to a close and we prepare for a new year at Fairfax CASA, I encourage you to review our annual report and join with us in celebrating our continued success. Your support makes all the difference.

Wishing you all the best for the holiday season and the New Year!
